What is the Rise Up Movement?

ART + AWARENESS + ACTION

“We are a grassroots movement that emerged with a mission to educate and promote positive activism within our communities through the use of our creative talents.”

Our main goal is to invigorate the minds of our communities, to spread awareness about the injustices in our society, and to inspire a sense of activism in the hearts and minds of the people of Hawaii. We are bridge builders and at the core, we believe that in order for real change to happen we must look past our differences and work together by engaging in conversations & discussions, utilizing talents, and finding creative ways to rise up against injustices in our society.

Rise Up Hawaii acts as a fundraising group. Our vision is for the world and we want to make a difference in it on every level by supporting local, national and international non-profit organizations that are already invested in the causes we want to raise awareness about. We advocate for those organizations and their endeavors by coordinating and holding benefit events that entertain, educate and inspire.

Benefit Event since our establishment:

•  3/25/10: Rise Up for Haiti (Collaboration w/The American Red Cross)
•  5/30/10: Rise Up Against Animal Cruelty (Collaboration w/Hawaii Humane Society)
• 11/20/10: Rise Up For Hawaii’s Homeless (Collaboration w/Hawaii H5)
•  5/21/11: Rise Up For Japan (Collaboration w/The American Red Cross)

THE TEAM

The Rise Up Hawaii team is comprised of regular working individuals, students, musicians, and artists pushing for change and to spread awareness throughout our communities through art/music and positive activism. The Rise Up Hawaii team is constantly changing and ever growing. RUH is a non-exclusive organzation, we encourage everyone who wants to be part of a positive change to join the movement.

There are various ways to be involved, everything from becoming a street team member, a partner/sponsor at our events, showcasing or performing at our events, volunteer with promotions and set ups, etc. if you have any skills that you would like to contribute to our team please contact us: riseuphawaii@gmail.com
